Why are these Hosting and domain plans so cheap?
These bloghosting providers normally can afford to give these low prices only due to offering these plans to new customers and making money from customers over the longer term, when they extend their contracts. The advertised price is only for the first year, and then it switches back to normal renewal prices a few dollars more. You have the options at that time to switch to a new hosting provider to then remain as a customer with your existing website-host.
Dedicated servers Vs shared plans
These plans are cheaper because the y are shared hosting plans and not dedicated servers or VPS servers which are a bit more costly and not shared servers. The dedicated and Vps servers are generally quite speedy and more exclusive. Google are reportedly creating a CMS to rival WordPress. Think about this. If Google were to provide not only a free CMS system that was better than WordPress, built in their adsense system right into the code, blogs would be a revenue generator from the get go. Get WordPress for free, or get paid for using your CMS. Interesting proposition. What’s the value to Google? Data capture for Deep Mind’s life graph.
The future just might not be in WordPress’ hands…
