Yes you can now , Facebook  has just started a new  feature  on their platform  where you can just use your smartphone to broadcast yourself live to the world  via your facebook account.

Infact it is very much like the popular service – Periscope  , which lets you broadcast live video to the world and instantly notify your followers who can join, comment on your live video.

This platform is  good to broadcast live events as well and  can easily eat into google’s – You tubes market share.

If you’re looking for a stream from a random person you can either choose one from one of the highly ranked clips on the left side of the page, or click on one of the blue dots ont he interactive map  from everyone else on the digital globe.

This feature isn’t available to everyone right now.

What  is this Facebook  live videos?

Live videos are real-time video posts on the Facebook platform. You can use your smart device or smartphone to broadcast live onto Facebook and your followers or family and friends.

You will also get  Live videos from public figures you follow and your friends will appear in your News Feed.

How do i do a live broadcast on facebook ?

To start a live broadcast:

  1. Log into the Facebook iOS app or Facebook Android app
  2. Tap at the top of your Timeline, News Feed or Page
  3. Tap
  4. Write an optional description for your broadcast
  5. Tap Go Live to begin your broadcast

When you want to end your broadcast, tap Finish.

Your broadcast can be no longer than 90 minutes. When you end your broadcast, it’ll stay on your Timeline or Page like any other video.

To turn live video notifications on or off:

  1. Click at the top-right corner and select Settings
  2. Click Notifications on the left
  3. Click On Facebook
  4. Scroll down to Live Videos to make changes to live video notifications
