Norton Security threats update

January 9, 2011 by JJ Leave a Comment

Today  Norton’s security offered a 2011 update  and  the resulting new screen looked quite nice and professional and organized.  A new interesting feature of the new Norton Internet  security is the display of threats in your own countries  and other countries that are updated on the go.

Top city’s with cybercrime activities

Here are a few snap shots showing the security threats currently happening in Australia and INDIA , check out the count of the threats in comparison to Australia and India its quite interesting to see which  cities are more unsafe than others.

Here is another ticker (above)that shows you the  update on the latest viruses that are being unleashed on the internet and are spreading. The pic above says w32.wapomi.clinf , packed.generic.315 , infostealert.gen2 and wapomi.c are the latest virus threats happening.

Norton Now scans facebook WALL as well

Facebook has become a top social site on the web. More and more people spend a lot of time on Facebook, and this gives cybercriminals the opportunity to use Facebook to propagate malware. This feature lets users scan their feed for malicious URLs using Norton Safe Web. You get a report of the scan, which you can choose to share on your Facebook Wall.

Now  this is good to know about what is happening around the world , but wonder how much of my internet bandwidth it is eating, it probably wont make much  difference to me , but possibly would make a difference to some people in third world  or still developing countries  where internet bandwidth can be quite expensive.
