unable to install – google chrome problems

Recently i was having some problems with my google chrome starting up , so i decided to uninstall and re-install google chrome. I managed to uninstall google chrome , but then suddenly  it would not let me install the new google chrome  for some reason. Here is the solution i found to this  as suggested by google, if you run into the same problem

The problem  is not downloading the installer for installing chrome . but actually getting the downloaded google chrome installer to install google chrome

Error locating installer application

If you’re seeing this error, it’s likely that there was an error locating the installer application on your system. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

This fix involves manually modifying your registry. If you’re unfamiliar with this process, we recommend contacting your system administrator or local computer guru for assistance.

  1. Go to Start > Run
  2. In the ‘Run’ window that appears, enter regedit in the text field and click the OK button.
  3. In the ‘Registry Editor’ window, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Google\Update\Clients\.
  4. Right-click the directory ‘{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D}’.
  5. Select Delete from the menu that appears.
  6. Close the ‘Registry Editor’ window.
  7. Try installing the programme again. BINGO !!

Competition is hotting up for the “Macbook pro”  with the release of the "Dell xps 15z" laptop model and the samsung 9 series slim laptop also recently unveiled.

Dell claims its new slim Laptop pc the XPS 15Z is "one of the thinnest 15-in PCs on the planet" at 24.68mm or 0.97in. At this size it is almost, but not quite, as thin as Apple’s equivalent Macbook Pro, which is 24.1mm thin. Both laptops weigh 2.5kg. Its definitely positioned to rival the “Macbook pro”. The slim dell laptop will be competitively prioced at £899, which is considerably less than the £1,549 price tag of its rival

The “XPS 15Z” has a 15.6in display and a WLED screen with standard HD 1366×768 resolution but you can also opt for a full HD 1080p. Dell said that you’ll get up to 8 hours battery life from the 8 cell battery, which is 1 hour more than Apple claims for the Macbook Pro

Yes i got a ipad recently  and then a  search began for “ipad speakers” , you see the ipad can play music ,but you need a decent pair of speakers to get the best out of them.

The EeePC is looking fairly well spec’d with an (unspecified) Intel processor and chipset, Intel UMA graphics, 512MB RAM, 16GB SSD, webcam, Bluetooth and b/g wireless. Sure, it’s not gonna be ground breaking, or play any decent games, nor should it. It’s a mobile solution that should be more than capable. ( Source for specs )
I haven’t personally used Linux, but it’s open source freeware which means that it’s totally supported by a bunch of uber geeks who continually make patches to keep it running fairly stable. Also, due to the lower number of users, it’s fair to assume that it’s less likely to be attacked. Linux is also more efficient when using system resources, unlike Vista, so should make the most of the laptop. Again, I haven’t used Open Office, but I know that it is compatible with Microsoft Office file types (which the majority of businesses and educational facilities will use).

With the continuing  expansion on “banking online” for individuals  and businesses as well as the growth on online buying with your credit card and paypal it  is becoming more and more important to secure your pc from the intruders waiting to get all that information stored on your pc.

Most Computers at home or your business contain  personal information and financial data and passwords which in the wrong  hands can ruin your daily life and give you a shock. It is becoming more important to  know how these hackers hack you computer and  what porst they are targeting.

Below is a some of the main ports that hackers frequently use to get into your system. if you are using a nice  firewall system or then a Anti virus program  you have already minimized the risk.

Most of these ports are used by most computers to run basic services on your computer but some of them can be permanently blocked by your windows  security setting or then  your firewall settings

As you can see in above Microsoft Ds (port 445) and telnet (port 23) are among the favorite target of hackers  to try compromise you pc . Most good firewalls protect your pc by blocking access to these ports or not allowing unauthorized people from seeing the status of these ports, which diminishes the possibility of getting compromised.

If you don’t have a good firewall  or antivirus or expired antivirus ,you might wanna check out Norton internet security 2011 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 or then you can also try out the AVG Free antivirus on their website but the paid version ( AVG ANTI VIRUS )always give you more security. Most of these software’s come with  both the antivirus and the firewall in one package so you don’t need to get them separately
