As described in our earlier blog post, the the U.S. Federal Trade Commission released revised guidelines governing endorsements and testimonials that take effect on December 1, 2009. Among other things, these guidelines say that a blogger that endorses a product or service must disclose compensation received directly or indirectly from the seller of that product or service.

Google has launched  a new Make a call from your Gmail service  to make calls to the US and UK even simpler  and best of all free.

Google is launching a  new  call phone service from gmail , what it  essentially does is , you canCall anywhere in the US and Canada for free and get low rates for other countries with this small plugin  from google — right from within Gmail.

This will definitely change the game for many  telephone and  VOIP  phone call providers who are charging premiums for this sort of  free service that google is now giving.

New australian ISP 1 terrabyte plans

Yes its here ,but at what price ?? iiNet and iPrimus are the first australian ISP’S to  launch 1TB plans forhigh speed  internet connections

IINET PLAN : The plans offer 500GB peak and 500GB off-peak for customers who bundle their home phone with iiNet. ADSL1 customers can get the 1TB deal for $119 per month and ADSL2+ customers for $99 per month.

Plans are only available to iiNet  australian customers connected to an iiNet DSLAM ( Check with  Whirlpool’s Broadband Choice to see which ISPs have DSLAMs in your local telephone exchange)

Do make sure to read the  fine print. its one step forward with one step backward. It’s worth taking note that iiNet’s 1TB plan counts your upload and downloads, a catch that many ISPs only apply to their Naked DSL plans.

iPrimus announced a 1.1TB plan ($99 per month, or $119 per month for Naked DSL customers). That’s 511GB peak and 600GB off-peak – throttled to 256Kbps if you use your quota.Check if you are eligible  to get this plan in your area

The isp terrabyte wars are only going to get hotter  as we go forward and also the NBN Rolling out eventually while the customers are certainly going to be a happier lott.

The indian $35 tablet leaves IPAD soul- less

"One Laptop Per Child wants to join forces to help manufacture and distribute  the Indian government’s planned US$35 tablet. In a congratulatory note to the government, OLPC Chairman Nicholas Negroponte said the world needs the $35 tablet, and he offered the country full access to OLPC hardware and software technology."

OLPC Chairman Nicholas Negroponte said the world needs the $35 tablet, and he offered the country full access to OLPC hardware and software technology.

"India is so big that you risk being satisfied with your internal market. Don’t. The world needs your device and leadership. Your tablet is not an "answer" or "competitor" to OLPC’s XO laptop," Negroponte wrote.

Negroponte advised the Indian government to make the tablet as desirable as Apple’s iPad, but not to design it as a media consumption tool. The device should be an education tool.
