I was gob smacked, when i checked my blog traffic a couple of days ago. Apparently  someone  made a comment about cars on  this blog  and suddenly the rush of traffic started heading to my blog  towards this page that details fake Chinese cars replicated of word class cars.

I saw the title of the page

and went  WTF !! this page doesn’t seem relevant at all to cars or anything related

So i right clicked and viewed page source and there it was

I had a look at the blog and  didn’t  think that this could be a high traffic blog , but if one small little  irrelevant comment could bring in such massive  traffic  to a website , i wonder how much traffic this website actually  gets? (surely would be heaps)

Australia misses Out on Google Local ad Targeting

Many of SEO’s and Businesses  use Google  location targeting to show your ads in specific geographic locations such as countries, regions, and cities to more precisely reach your potential customers.

Google is now  introducing new geographical targeting  advertising options and tweaking the options  to get more targeted advertising within AdWords and has also released postal code targeting for Canada.

With this new introduction to location targeting AdWords offers location targeting at the postal code, city, metro, or the region level, although targeting at certain levels isn’t available in some countries.

Though Australia missed out on the postal code targeting, as you can see in the pic above,  Australia has location targeting by city and region, which is still good because if you are advertising a local business that is not online only for Sydney  then they can target only the Sydney city, and if a company is seeking local customers from the whole of WA region  they can target only the WA region in their ad words campaign

Canada has got more specific option for targeted advertising with Google introducing the ability to target by Canadian Postal Code FSAs(Forward Sortation Area), the first three digits of the postal code, which correspond to a certain geographic area.

AdWords will now have city and regional targeting capabilities in 9 new countries.

As time goes by, all gadgets are only going to improve as developers find new and exciting things to add to the packages. In recent years we’ve seen the likes of Twitter and Facebook built in to the standard features, as well as the likes of HD cameras, the ability to seamlessly stream music and movies from the Internet on your phone and even “mobile wallets.”

These are one of the latest features to hit the cell phone industry and are being pioneered by the likes of Barclays. Cells are already a three-in-one camera, phone and computer, and now it looks like they’re going to become wallets too.

Barclays are trying out contactless payments by creating chips that can be placed within or on the back of a phone, allowing the user to scan their phone against the payment machine instead of having to carry around cash or credit cards.

At present, users will only be able to make payments priced at $25 or under, but, if successful, that could rise to nearer the $40 mark and beyond. Big chains such as McDonalds are already offering customers the chance to pay wirelessly and they have said that the scheme “definitely looks like a winner.”

The more innovations that a cell phone can have, the better the chances are of the company selling their phones around the world. At present, the iPhone is leading the way from the likes of the Samsung Galaxy and the BlackBerry.

Here is what’s good  about air Asia

“Its cheaper than the rest”

Sadly thats where the goodness ends as i just found out. I did booking for  australia to Indonesia recently and  waited for my booking details to come through to my email as promised. In the meantime i did my hotel and insurance booking.

I waited, no  sign of my booking details coming through on email even though my credit card is debited. Frantically i go their website and try to check my booking with the confirmation  reference i got while booking ( Nothing showing up). I register with their site and login  to check ( nothing showing up).

I try  to call them on their  AIR ASIA  Australia Contact ( 1300 760 330 Operating Hours : 24 Hours)  phone line , they say high call volume  and try calling later.

I call again.I GET THE SAME MESSAGE AGAIN.

Finally i call and wait through the call with a auto message going on with a person speaking in a hard to understand tone and at eh end of the message it tells me to press 2 to enquire about a booking , and finally i got to talk  to a operator who confirmed my booking.

i tried their live support  chat , that was also offline ( LINK BELOW)

Got through finally to their contact line  the support guy then managed to also link my booking to my registered login  and put the booking on the website so that i could check it online.

surprisingly  my friend who flew last year also had the same problem , you think  they would fix something like this immediately. it definitely speaks for their poor service standards

This just proves that AIR ASIA has a crappy booking system, a crappy phone support system and the only thing good about them is their cheap rates.. sometimes makes you wonder if its worth it ?
