The EeePC is looking fairly well spec’d with an (unspecified) Intel processor and chipset, Intel UMA graphics, 512MB RAM, 16GB SSD, webcam, Bluetooth and b/g wireless. Sure, it’s not gonna be ground breaking, or play any decent games, nor should it. It’s a mobile solution that should be more than capable. ( Source for specs )
I haven’t personally used Linux, but it’s open source freeware which means that it’s totally supported by a bunch of uber geeks who continually make patches to keep it running fairly stable. Also, due to the lower number of users, it’s fair to assume that it’s less likely to be attacked. Linux is also more efficient when using system resources, unlike Vista, so should make the most of the laptop. Again, I haven’t used Open Office, but I know that it is compatible with Microsoft Office file types (which the majority of businesses and educational facilities will use).

With the continuing expansion on “banking online” for individuals and businesses as well as the growth on online buying with your credit card and paypal it is becoming more and more important to secure your pc from the intruders waiting to get all that information stored on your pc.

Most Computers at home or your business contain personal information and financial data and passwords which in the wrong hands can ruin your daily life and give you a shock. It is becoming more important to know how these hackers hack you computer and what porst they are targeting.

Below is a some of the main ports that hackers frequently use to get into your system. if you are using a nice firewall system or then a Anti virus program you have already minimized the risk.

Most good firewalls protect your pc by blocking access to these ports or not allowing unauthorized people from seeing the status of these ports, which diminishes the possibility of getting compromised.

If you don’t have a good firewall or antivirus or expired antivirus ,you might wanna check out Norton internet security 2011 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 or then you can also try out the AVG Free antivirus on their website but the paid version ( AVG ANTI VIRUS )always give you more security. I recently got this light from amazon at a 21 % discount to the normal price and i am pretty pleased at the results . The Phillips changing color light cost me $79 after discount which was a pretty good deal compared to what it was selling at some shops nearby to my house.

The Philips Imageo Rechargeable Table Lights are great atmosphere creators. They give off a warm glow without the risk of open flames and hot wax. The set includes two rechargeable LED candles lights, a charger and integrated adaptor.

These color changing lights offers a romantic glow. Simply tilt units to turn on and off. After an initial charge on the wireless induction charging station, these lights will glow for 6 hours. They are a couple of other similar light gadgets available at Amazon as well like the Philips HF3480 Wake-up Light . My sis got the Philips Living Colors Translucent LED Lamp with Remote (pic below) and she is quite happy with it ( it looks really good as a lounge accessory and the light are perfect for setting the mood)

WordPress 3.1 update and New standard , Aside , gallery post format and Thesis theme

Post format wordpress 3.1, the new feature of the latest version of wordpress 3.1, updated this February 2011. If you have upgraded to wordpress 3.1 ,you should be able to see the format button on the right of the panel “Format”, which has three options, standard, aside and gallery.

If you don’t have this post format wordpress 3.1 tab, it means your theme does not support this yet.

you will need to add a code in your functions.php file, or in Thesis, custom_functions.php file, also need to tweak some files for the “aside” option, however if you use Twenty Ten theme, this tab should be there

The gallery option is my favorite, By adding gallery shortcode which was already available long time ago, you will be able to have a gallery page, in the post, and complete with previous and next pictures, as well as the dimension, and image details. When you click one of the image, it will bring you to the one image with its details, such as size, and the file name
