Post updated 02 June 2020: Starting a tech blog is not a difficult task as some would think it to be — anyone can do it with just a little bit of effort and time.

The process is the same for creating a website with wordpress, be it any niche or topic/subject you choose. However, creating a good looking and quality blog would possibly demand a little bit more hard work that you would think.

It would surely involve you set aside, some time and money. (Some nice deals provided below)

# Things to Know before you start your blog

If you are starting a blog –  having some passion for what you are doing or blogging about would surely help you a lot in becoming successful in your blogging journey. Obviously having a passion for something will make your work easier and you will write better about your passion, and that’s what draws people to your blog and makes it a success.

You can decide to write about anything – Gadgets, Android phones, Software hacks or Gaming tips. There is an audience for all sorts of information online.

What do you want from your blog?

I am happy to bring you this special deal right now (56% off)  from Bluehost for starting a self-hosted wordpress blog/website. Using this special discount offer, you can install and set up a wordpress blog in minutes for just $3.95 a month and you get a FREE domain name.

# 56% 60% Percent off Bluehost  Hosting Special deal for  2018

Deal link updated – It is not often that you get such a good hosting offer from Bluehost at 56% off  – Just $2.95 USD ( $4.39 AUD) for their special hosting deal – Grab it here via my link (56% off -$2.95)

Let me tell you a little about bluehost from my experience with them . When i started my first blog, I didnt know much about hosting and servers and that kind of geeky stuff. But I soon had to learn – at that time many years ago there was not as many reviews and write ups available on-line to read – before making that choice of picking a hosting company .

I just ended up signing up with a local hosting company. They had wordpress software availability …  but they had their own custom installer software for it.  Getting your blog started with thier software was a bit of a process (actually a pain). Once I managed to get teh installing bits all sorted out – There was other problems, WP plugins needed special permission just to work  properly and I had to contact  the server admin to change settings which took time going back and forth. It was quite frustrating.

I am glad that the top hosts like Bluehost and Hostgator nowadays have the one-click install that makes installing and starting a blog yourself a breeze and It can be done in minutes. I have given below a quick run through on how to set up your blog with Bluehost.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.22″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.25″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text admin_label=”steps 1 t0 ” _builder_version=”4.4.7″]

# You Ready?

Ok, so You’re set to give this  a go!

You’ve chosen your tech blog site name and already purchased one  ( if you havent – dont worry you can choose your free domain name in the bluehost sign up process below)

You have got a few articles/posts planned or already written, and you now possess a few gadgets that you want to review or got some new trending and exciting technology stuff  that you want to write about.

Fantastic! Let’s design your desired blog.

# Step 1: Get Hosted.

Don’t be anxious or scared — If the web hosting mumbo jumbo  seems scary to you- Don’t panic , It isn’t as hard as you would believe it to be ! It’s simply hiring a small piece of the web network for your site.

So arises the very important Question, which host should you select?

The answer is one that  is reliable, easy to use , easy to set up your blog  and got good support.

From my personal experience, I suggest Bluehost for nearly everyone including fresh and new bloggers. I use Bluehost for the majority of my websites since it offers quality web hosting for a low price ($4.39 AUD per month for 1 year) and I can contact them  if anything fails at all , whihc hasn’t happened so far. They give you your web domain name for free  and they have a very good 1 click install  for easy and quick set up of your blog!

Start by clicking the big   Get Started Right now  button or pic :

Screen-Shot-2015-08-17 1 step

Next – You will see this pricing  screen based on your country currency.

Screen-Shot-2015-08-17 2nd step

The starter plan should be good enough for a new blog or   even a 5000 viewers a day blog.

Click on select.

Your next screen will be this – you can choose your free domain name over here and they will tell you if that name is available when you type it in.

Screen-Shot-2015-08-17 3 rd step

For your own hosting account choice,  you could choose simple hosting offers for 12 months , twenty-four, or 36 months. I recommend if you are in two minds, you can decide to go with the 12-month plan for $6.95  or then  go for a longer 24/36 month  and lock in a cheaper rate (as low as $3.49 a month currently- Links updated)

when I purchased my first bluehost hosting, I took a 36 month plan  to save money over the longer run as I  couldn’t  see yourself creating more work for me changing hosts over the shorter term after just starting a blog and starting to get it off the ground.

I would suggest the 36 months plan as you still get the Free domain and the cheaper hosting price is locked in for 3 years. Often if you take a 12 month plan you could see yourself ending up paying more when you need to renew (inflation + price increases) the plan after twelve months and trust me, time flies fast.

Check out he screen below

Screen-Shot-2015-08-17 4th step

For the optional accessories on the list,  Thats what it is  optional

You don’t need Search-engine Jumpstart or Site Lock Domain name Safety  unless you decide too, as they are optional as per your needs. You can invest in the Site Backup Professional in case you really are worried about security  of your blog, however, I choose to perform the backing up myself and there are tutorials on-line that will show you how to do it. (I utilize the $80 plugins Backup-Pal).

On some of my blogs I use the manual export function to backup my blog posts + pages, this can be done within a few clicks and is the quickest way to back up your written content from blog.

Domain Security Protection, nevertheless, is something that you ought to spring the additional $9.99 for. Anybody can check out who owns any particular web site; when you don’t pay for Domain Security Coverage, anybody can find out your name and also mailing home address on your site. The domain security blocks this.

Now It’s time to start your WordPress up and get it up and running.

# Step 2: Install WordPress

Once you login with your new login and password into the bluehost website. You will see this image below,  you just need to click install and follow instructions to get the blog up and running in a few minutes. They also offer a paid installing service ,but its so easy why would you not do it yourself.

WordPress is regarded as the world’s largest website and blog publishing system. It’s immense, it’s simple, it’s utilised by multi million-dollar publishing company such as CNN and People journal, and nearly every blogger I know utilises it, which means there are lots of specialists available to help you if something goes wrong.

Bluehost offers easy one-click WordPress set up, which saves you from struggling to set it up or employing somebody to get it done.

On the cPanel, BlueHost’s own home display, you’ll notice this button:

2016 step by step guide building blog step 6

Click through it and it will take you via a simple installation process.

While in this process, it will ask you where you’d want to set up it, choose your domain (eg. http://www.mynewtechblog.com). It will provide you with your login name and password via this process.

Screen-Shot-2015-08-17 5th step

Once your wordpress blog is set up, you come to know where to login (generally the www.mynewtechblog.com/wp-admin) and it is also emailed to you. You would have already written down your password .  This login and password can be used to login  to your blog and start the process of blogging.

From this provided link, you’ll manage to sign in your own WordPress dashboard write articles and further optimise your blog as you wish.

# Step 3: Set up Plugins

Think of WordPress like a blank canvas — plugins are accessories that make your tech blog functional. The majority of plugins are free but some of them ask for donations to support them.

A few premium plugins cost money. After you log in from the admin panel in wordpress, in the right part bar, click where it states “plugins” and choose “add new” to explore and install useful plugins with the help of keywords search.

Here are some useful plugins that I recommend for new tech bloggers (All free!) :

Google xml sitemaps- This is necessary to get you in the search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo

Contact Form 7 — can make a simple contact form page for your blog or website so people can email you through your site.

SEO plugin – ALL in one SEO or WordPress seo by yoast ,they both are good choose one. A bit technical but necessary to make it popular on the internet. Plenty of guides to sue these plugins available online

Akismet — Keeps spam under control (NECESSARY, As you will get LOTS of spam )

Share This – Adds links at the bottom of posts to share via Email, StumbleUpon, Digg, Facebook, Twitter.

Comment Reply Notification — Somebody comments on your article , this one is your personal assistant and will reply to them for you

Sucuri Security – This plugin help protect your blog from hackers and keeps a log of who is logging into your blog besides you

Wp Smush it – This helps in reducing the size of images you post in articles on your blog to help make your blog faster to load

WP supercache – This helps you r blog load faster to viewers and therefore helps get better ranking in search

FD Feedburner Plugin — Manages your feed, your stream of new content.

WordPress Related posts – Quickly increase your readers’ engagement with your posts by adding Related Posts in the footer of your content. Click on Related Posts tab to configure your settings.

Pretty Link — if you want to put in a n affiliate link that looks too long , you can mask the url or then shorten that url with this

Ultimate Google Analytics — Installs Google Analytics easily onto your website. You will need to track what keywords people are searching to reach your blog and what pages they are visiting on your blog.

Monarch plugin – Want to share your articles easily from your blog to Facebook, twitter etc . This one adds nice share buttons and is fully customis’able .Its free – once you get a $69 elegant wordpress theme membership that gets you $80 plus professional themes so technically it’s not free . Though I would say it’s worth it by just getting the plugin you also get free 80 themes (you also get access to 3 other plugins Free with this membership)

Be mindful of not getting too excited and adding too many plugins just because its freely available, as too many wordpress plugins can also slow down your website.

# Step 4: Secure Your Social Media Handles

Grab your preferred screen name on the social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter,Instagram, Pinterest and especially Google+ . You should look to maintain your first name / username identical across almost all domain names to bring more brand awareness for your website. With Google+, which uses your complete name you will not be able to do this. Keep in mind that Facebook or my space will never allow you to create a custom link until you have 25 followers.

# Step 5: Begin An Email List

Do you really need an email list?

Ask any experienced specific marketer or web guru and they will tell you — an email list is the sole most beneficial factor that your site will and should surely have. People are more prone and able to see your own content by means of email than they are by any other social network, and also even though social accounts can vary in popularity over time, the email address is right here to stay.

My first large blog earnings were less due to not starting an email list initially. When I finally dis start a mail list, I made my second big mistake — starting it on MailChimp, a free supplier. While they are good to start with, I did not realise the big features and options a premium service provider could give and how I was missing out on automation and money by trying to save money by going with a free provider. With Free provider, I lost an enormous part of my email list in the process because you can’t just include all your names on a listing just by adding it to their new list — but they have to verify and get approval from that list of users all over again.

Today I choose to use Aweber, the perfect email service available, and also I’m kicking myself personally because I wasn’t going for it from the start.

# Step 6: Make Your Tech Blog Successful

If you are interested in starting off a tech blog that will help you make money and be a success, you have come to the greatest resource here: Blogging to Success with Clickbank. (Course Website: http://clickbank-course.com/ ) I was not willing to enrol and spend money on learning how to blog + make money (something which I was actually was already doing).

I actually didn’t think I required it, because I was already making a bit of extra cash, but when I read how many more top bloggers were members and gained from it and were successful, it lured me in to join up. Eventually, I thought why not give it a go – and I became a member.

I was surprised how beneficial and useful the content they provided and the detailed and informative video tutorials they provided via the course. I learn a lot even though I thought I knew quite a bit. They had put together access to all the lessons, all the webinars and interviews, and even better, actual helpful bloggers speaking about how they have actually grown their blogs to success and created online businesses to million dollar enterprises. They speak about how they built their blogs and started earning money.

In short, this is the resource that will help you build the best blog you may and guide you on monetising it with internet marketing — and get paid for it.

Mom bloggers, Travel Bloggers, Fashion bloggers  Gadget Blog

It doesn’t matter if you are starting a blog on fashion, travel, a mom blog, a gadget website, a baby blog  – this six-step tutorial should get you going with building a blog. Once you create your website/blog all you need is relevant graphics to be updated to your niche to give it a proper look for your topic. Updating to a relevant logo and your niche content articles will make your this niche blog stand out.

While we recommend Bluehost, we do believe you should always check out other website hosting providers too before deciding for yourself, so here is another comparison list of other website hosts for 2018.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.22″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.25″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.27.4″]

Next What? Keep Calm and Blog regularly

used to advice new and even experienced bloggers to write new articles or posts at least 2 times a month . But this all changed and with increased competition and google updates now it is better to blog at least 2 to 4 times a week when you start a blog. In your early days, blogging prolifically and more regularly is the best thing you can do — because you’ll develop your own voice, you’ll see what your readers like, and you will also understand of what you should be writing about by getting feedback and comments to shape your blog much better to success.

Is my blog a success yet – It’s not an easy task and can take a long time and a lot of work and writing before you gain a loyal and regular audience or traffic interested in what you have to say on a regular basis. But once you see this happening, the perks in this field are rewarding and maybe it also will surpass your expectations.

Good luck, you tech savvy blogger, you!

Normally shared hosting has a fixed price for the term of that contract, but please do check if the plan states a discounted first month, which means it will revert to a higher price after first month. It would normally say so in the ad if it’s only a first month discounted price.

bluehostaustralia.com.au

What is shared hosting ?

Shared hosting is a server where you are allocated space for your website on bluehost servers and the space will be shared by many other users as well. So its basically like a larger server space , where every user is allocated a certain amount of space for their website . Normally this space is more than enough for a couple of websites It’s like living in an apartment with many neighbours and so the rent or hosting price can be cheap.

Optimized Hosting (also Known as managed hosting)

Optimized hosting was basically born to break free of the slower speeds of shared hosting, which often occurs when your have a very high traffic to your blog. Optimised hosting use a VPS server with customised software to speed up loading of your blog. Bluehost also offer advanced CDN and site lock features with its Optimised WP PLAN.

What’s dedicated and VPS hosting

Dedicated and VPS hosting concepts are quite similar. They both provide a better service than shared hosting.

Dedicated hooting is as its name suggest a server that is dedicated entirely to you, so you share it with nobody else and you could possibly also choose your hardware and software on that server. Main benefit of dedicated servers is that you don’t need to be worried about bad neighbours (websites) affecting your website, although this is said to play a very small role in ranking in google in the overall google algorithm

A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtual machine sold as a service by an internet hosting service. You can today even have a virtual server on your desktop easily with windows 10 . But in hosting server terms, a VPS runs its own copy of an operating system, and customers have superuser-level access to that operating system so they can install almost any software that runs on that OS. Its like having your own computer but in the cloud.

On a VPS Server, you have dedicated amounts of RAM (memory) available to you at any time unlike in shared hosting where if other users in that group use more of ram , then your site can get slow.

Cloud Hosting

The beauty of the cloud is that a number of machines or serves can act as one system. Shared hosting servers normally depend on one machine while your cloud hosting security and speed can be guaranteed by many servers. Up scaling and upgrading g of your server resources and capability can also been done at a click of a button. It is customisable, secure and scalable.

Established hosting companies such as Godaddy , Dreamhost, Hostgator, Site5 and bluehost are offering cloud-based solutions alongside shared hosting.

So which bluehost plan is the best ?

From the above three plans in the pic, the $6.45 a month is definitely the cheapest and the best  if you are starting a blog. However if you are going long term – then i would suggest  the $9.72 per month plan, as it not only gives you ability to host 10 websites ,but also gives you a global CDN, Spamexperts  mail filtering and $150 worth of advertising  offers to give your new blog a jump start with  free advertising

Normal bluehost prices for webhosting plans

Plans            Basic                   Plus

12 month : AUD $9.72              $12.98

24 month : AUD $8.08              $11.35

36 month : $13.05 $6.45           $17.95 $9.72

Online Stores Powered by WooCommerce

  • Secure payment gateways provided
  • Fully customizable online stores
  • Free Online Store Set Up Phone Call

As you can see, these two normal priced plans are currently discounted

What’s the bluehost Free domain policy ?

Free Domain Policy :

If you register a domain with Bluehost when signing up for a hosting account, there is a domain fee that is non-refundable. This not only covers our costs, but ensures that you won’t lose your domain name. Regardless of the status of your hosting service, you’ll be free to manage it, transfer it after any required lock periods, or simply point it elsewhere at your convenience. You retain ownership of your domain until the end of its registration period unless you elect to extend it.

BEST SOFTWARE FOR WEBSITE BUILDING

WordPress, the world’s top content management system (CMS),  is a versatile and flexible blogging platform  that is simple to use by even beginners and can be customised extensively if needed. The software has one of the largest library of free and premium themes and plug-ins  to make the task of creating and managing your website a breeze. With this  CMS, you can build professional looking business websites, personal blogs  and even large entertainment and news portals like MTV and CNN has done with wordpress.

With word-press and a  good web hosting provider you can easily build a  small personal blog  to a large business website with  little to no skills. If you’ve thought about building a website, you should definitely consider a WordPress web host.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”before table para why us hosts” _builder_version=”3.11.1″ text_font=”Ubuntu||||||||” text_font_size=”20px” header_font=”Ubuntu|500||on|||||”]

With the list below, there is a mix of Australian and US Webhosts that support WP hosting and “Managed wordpress hosting”. I have always used  US based hosts  due to their affordable  pricing  compared to some local aussie hosts and also the benefit of their easy website setup scripts for installing websites in minutes.

Below you can check out their features and plan prices  and choose for yourself.

Choosing a “hosting company” for your blog or website is  a tough decision to make. You have  to consider  to cost of the web server plan, the value you will get,  the customer service  you can expect  among many other  smaller factors.

Hosting companies dont make it easy for you,  changing their prices and features included on a regular basis making it more difficult for you to compare  and choose among different hosts. So  what we have done is  drilled down to  a few of  top 10 hosts that are already listed above and given a little bit of an overview on them below.

Difference between hosting plans

Shared hosting

Shared hosting is one of the  most suitable plan  for  beginners  as  these plans  are normally cheap and yet have all the basic features that a  beginner blogger or webmaster needs. These plans are cheap because the servers provided are shared by many users and the load on servers is balanced.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column_inner][/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner admin_label=”Row”][et_pb_column_inner type=”1_2″ saved_specialty_column_type=”1_2″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.98″ background_layout=”light”]

Dedicated or VPS hosting

This is hosting that is better than shared, as you get more exclusive use of the servers and therefore the server speeds are a bit better than shared. The basic features are the same, but you get some more freedom with the server end features. If you have some technical knowledge of servers you can take advantage of some of these features, but these additional features are not necessary  for basic running of a website.

VPS servers generally allow root access and Dedicated plans allow customisation of  your hosting environment.

The benefit  for one of these plans would be for better speed and custom backend modifications of your website. Dedicated servers can be priced higher than a lot of  VPS plans. This hosting is often the next step upgrade from shared hosting.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column_inner][et_pb_column_inner type=”1_2″ saved_specialty_column_type=”1_2″][et_pb_text admin_label=”cloud managed wordpress hosts” _builder_version=”3.0.106″ background_layout=”light”]

Cloud and Managed wordpress hosts

Even though cloud and managed hosting is different. They both can be termed as managed hosting.

Cloud hosting is basically managed in the cloud automatically  and therefore  the main feature of this is that load balancing of your servers are all automated, to give your website the best performance according to your needs.

Managed wordpress hosting on the other hand is where the host has spent time  to modify the  server architecture to make you server optimised to load your website  quickly and keep it  running smooth and nicely with wordpress platform. They often have caching inbuilt with nginx. Some also provide CDNs with their hosting. This hosting is considered premium hosting and can cost more or even similar to dedicated.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column_inner][/et_pb_row_inner][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”off” specialty=”off” prev_background_color=”#000000″ next_background_color=”#000000″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.98″ background_layout=”light”]

Features that most hosting plans need

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_accordion _builder_version=”3.0.98″][et_pb_accordion_item _builder_version=”3.0.98″ title=”Disk storage” use_background_color_gradient=”off” background_color_gradient_start=”#2b87da” background_color_gradient_end=”#29c4a9″ background_color_gradient_type=”linear” background_color_gradient_direction=”180deg” background_color_gradient_direction_radial=”center” background_color_gradient_start_position=”0%” background_color_gradient_end_position=”100%” background_color_gradient_overlays_image=”off” parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on” background_size=”cover” background_position=”center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_blend=”normal” allow_player_pause=”off” text_shadow_style=”none” box_shadow_style=”none”] Disk storage Websites don’t need much storage and so you can see many providers offer unlimited storage. Most basic plans also have enough storage to run a couple of sites without any problems. [/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item _builder_version=”3.0.98″ title=”Uptime” use_background_color_gradient=”off” background_color_gradient_start=”#2b87da” background_color_gradient_end=”#29c4a9″ background_color_gradient_type=”linear” background_color_gradient_direction=”180deg” background_color_gradient_direction_radial=”center” background_color_gradient_start_position=”0%” background_color_gradient_end_position=”100%” background_color_gradient_overlays_image=”off” parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on” background_size=”cover” background_position=”center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_blend=”normal” allow_player_pause=”off” text_shadow_style=”none” box_shadow_style=”none”] Uptime This can differ from host to host, but if your host is offering an uptime of somewhere close to 99% you should be good. Watch out for hosts that can’t offer good uptime speeds, which means that your website won’t be available to your viewers occasionally when they have server problems. [/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item _builder_version=”3.0.98″ title=”Bandwidth” use_background_color_gradient=”off” background_color_gradient_start=”#2b87da” background_color_gradient_end=”#29c4a9″ background_color_gradient_type=”linear” background_color_gradient_direction=”180deg” background_color_gradient_direction_radial=”center” background_color_gradient_start_position=”0%” background_color_gradient_end_position=”100%” background_color_gradient_overlays_image=”off” parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on” background_size=”cover” background_position=”center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_blend=”normal” allow_player_pause=”off” text_shadow_style=”none” box_shadow_style=”none”] Bandwidth This is an important one; as more viewers to your website mean you use more bandwidth. More plugins and add-ons to your website mean more bandwidth.  Most shared plans have enough bandwidth  for a normal popular website, but you can upgrade if you really get popular and start getting like 5,000 hits a day( which can take a lot of time to achieve). [/et_pb_accordion_item][/et_pb_accordion][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”off” specialty=”off” prev_background_color=”#000000″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_blurb _builder_version=”3.0.98″ title=”Leave comments” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”%%277%%” use_circle=”off” use_circle_border=”off” icon_placement=”top” use_icon_font_size=”off” background_layout=”light”]

Why SEO Copykat can save you time

December 30, 2017 by admin 6 Comments

You might be wondering what is really “SEO COPYKAT” , its not just a term I made up  to grab  your attention, But it actually works.

At no point should competitive SEO  analysis be about copying someone else’s SEO tactics or backlinks. Instead of copying, use it for inspiration, new ideas and a better understanding of what Google values and what you can do better than your competitor.

Copying the SEO’s

(this method) Its sneaky but not illegal – because  you are just using information that’s already freely available to  everyone on the internet. SEO COPYCAT is just a method of  copying what  the  popular top bloggers are already doing to make their blog a success and earning heaps of cash and doing the same on your website, but in your own way and not plagiarising.

So what we are really doing here is focusing on some money making and popular blogs and copying  common strategies that work which is used by them.

copycat seo copykat blogging making money

They are many top and reputed  bloggers  who earn 100’s of Dollars $$$ in money in a month or even day and  also reveal how they did it on their blogs, but do you really believe they have told you all or revealed all their secrets?

Nope  !! yeh that’s right  if they did tell you everything, everyone would be making a million dollars!

But fortunately blogs  or websites that are online and published  as such, cannot hide much – except for maybe a bit of secret code or plugin here and there and backlinks that they have blocked if any to google and the internet.

The main  secret of most top bloggers are in their blogs for the world to see by google and also by you. They are many tools available to let you see their backlink profile,  the traffic and the sources of that traffic  to thier blog,  thier social media ranking , their top ranking keywords etc  to find out how they are ranking and banking online.

The people who are able to see the real secrets by analysing these famous blogs  can be winner’s sooner than the rest of the general public and be on their way to financial freedom.

It is not hard to see what they are doing  based on onpage and offpage SEO on their sites and even analyse their backlink structure. Some tools that may help you find out what top bloogers or competitors are doing are software like Ahrefs ( paid membership) , Semrush (paid monthly membership) and SEO PowerSuite  that is standalone Desktop software(NO monthly membership – one off payment)

Guest Posting is good

So what I have noticed, after the recent EVIL Google Animal Updates (panda-penguin) is that these bloggers and many of my favourite bloggers are suddenly getting heaps of guest posts on their blogs .

This means possibly two things “ either Google prefers or likes  blogs that are updated more regularly or then  the blogging scene is getting more competitive  and so more regular content is needed to keep your traffic steady and improving”. ( hint..hint)

Some of my favourite SEO Gurus  that I would recommend checking out in 2018  for SEO tips is  listed below

  1. https://backlinko.com
  2. https://neilpatel.com
  3. https://chasereiner.com
  4. https://diggitymarketing.com/blog/

See what they are doing in their own blogs and learn from those online live  websites

Trends in Earning money or making money

The other trend  that  is growing is  that many popular bloggers  have now becoming more of a salesman  and less of a  blogger like on of  the blog i follow of  chris guthrie for eg , which proves that Selling software and plugins means earnings $$$$ .

There are still many who are true to the blogging game  ( giving their audience value) and prefer to blog, but that possibly because they got some  back up site or biz making them their money.

Another trend i have noticed recently  and so have you is that suddenly everybody is talking about EBOOKS because that is also where the new money is , The smartphone market is booming  and so is the tablet market so go ahead and make that ebook that you were planning to make and “make some money”

A classic example of  a blog that is doing really good with guest posts and raking in the $$$  with their massive traffic is Daily Blog tips

How to embed your Amazon Astore in wordpress or blogger blog

January 18, 2016 by admin 12 Comments

create an amazon store and product

I needed to integrate a  “AMAZON ASTORE” into a self hosted wordpress site as a test on one of my websites. I trawled and searched  the internet for ways to best put in the “amazon astore”  to match my blog theme and design of this blog. [updated 18 jan 2016]

I came across  this site “ Robin Maluau – rockstar now geek” and “ Kristella’s blog” that gave me some useful but more technical tips. These tips could probably wont make sense to some , as you ned to have some technical knowledge to understand their jargon.  Since they had published those useful posts and tips  for getting a Amazon store to work with wordpress and blogger ,  blogger and wordpress itself has changed  and got updated. These updates  to new versions  have made  “integrating  you amazon Astore into your blog or website more easy” than ever.

Before i got much deeper into creating a  Amazon store within your blog –

Here is some basic info on amazon store and making money

An amazon store is a quick store that you can build online for free with amazon  to sell products  and earn a commission when a product gets sold. You need to register with amazon as a  affiliate to get this started. You dont need to make a Amazon store to sell products, you can just insert  your affilaite link to the product on your blog or website  and if a person clicks on that links and buys something you earn a commission.

How Do I Get Started?

1. If you are not a member of the Associates program, start by joining the program.
2. If you are already a member of the Associates program, visit the aStore section of Associates Central.

So, I  had the job of updating  this wordpress blog/website “www.australianpropertymarket.com.au” with a Amazon product store, so  I did a bit of research on the internet  and found many articles – some useful – most outdated. I decided to work it out on my own and managed to get a Amazon store nicely working  with wordpress, just by copying and pasting code provided by amazon  into wordpress. Its that simple now !! ( however this task was made easy  with my blog theme solostream  – which has integration options  to make this task easier )

or

How to make a amazon store in WordPress ?

I will show you how to integrate  “your amazon store” in few easy steps with a basic wordpress site .

Make sure you change the theme  while making the amazon astore  to match your store theme colours.

create amazon page website Integrate amazon html code for wordpress

I am assuming  that you already signed up as a affilaite  with amazon  and can now create a  Astore through your account .

Next Step.

Create the Astore in amazon and get the inline frame embed link like above.

Login and Go to your word press blog – Click on add new page

Click the html/text  button  where you write content and  paste the embed  code you got from amazon into the page Next – Click save

Now go to page attributes on your right  and switch the page template column to “page template – no sidebars” so that  your amazon sidebar is the only  sidebar that’s seen on the theme.

Some themes block this feature to not have the regular sidebar option , and you might have to mess around further with their  code to get this option installed or then just get the Solsotream theme that I use it will make the process easier) .

Here is another example  of  australian book website page on a standard wordpress template but without the Amazon sidebar ( adjusting the  width and height dimension in the  inline embed frame code of amazon will get  you this type of amazon page) .

You can check out the example  link below  for the Full amazon astore embed page in the word press website on propertymarket website

wordpress theme settings to integrate amazon code html into website or blog

The theme used on  the Australian property website is the same theme that is being used by my blog as well and you can get a $10 discount currently on this solostream theme , Solostream Themes are quite robust and SEO friendly and I do recommend them, you can read a review of some of the themes i recommend over here , but Solostream themes has been one of my favorites for years.

Create word press Amazon page

Y0u can further mess around with the amazon code for width and height and change size as necessary or then change the page attributes while generating the  embed code Or manually   to suit your design. You can also place a link on your blog menu  to your “amazon page”  to promote it.

You can follow a similar way to get this “amazon page on blogger” . I will  post a tutorial  how to integrate  Amazon Astore on blogger   when i get some spare time.

You can check out the result here  at the property  market website  &  another example  of  the Investor property book store page

All the best  and let me know if you run into any problems implementing this. You can comment below or get in touch with me via contact form  if you need any help setting this up.

New disruptive cloud Webhosting Company challenges the Billion dollar hosting market

January 9, 2016 by admin 2 Comments

page cloud hosting in the cloud

When I recently checked out Craig Fitzpatrick’s new page cloud website building service on Facebook I was surprised by the simplicity of this website building software and yet made aware of how versatile this new technology is. It’s amazing how you can just click and drag and drop and make a website just like that.

The Canadian start up scene is growing in leaps and bounds, just like the Australian start up scene here and this new ground breaking website building technology is just proof of this.In its initial raising page-cloud managed to get $6-million in seed financing from Canadian and U.S. investors – including Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke to get it all started up . Page cloud was also the finalist at TechCrunch’s Disrupt conference this past spring, however they have come a long way since then.

So what is page cloud?

According to their website “PageCloud is the world’s most advanced web editor, a pro tool that brings the experience of Photoshop to the Web”.

In simple words, once you register with them, you can just log into your pagecloud website in your browser and start building your website by dragging pictures, Text etc. from your desktop or  laptop onto your browser and make a website. You can also drag an existing website template and then modify it to make a new design for your website or blog.

This technology is best experienced or seen via this introductory video made by founder Craig, which is below

It’s surprising but the team at page cloud is also listening to their new customers and making changes to improve their service every day. Check out their blog to get an update on updates to their service.

Website: http://pagecloud.com/

Their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/pagecloudapp/

Their linked in page : https://www.linkedin.com/company/pagecloud

Twitter: https://twitter.com/pagecloud

How you could benefit from this new technology ?

For People who want to be in control of their website and design it themselves or maintain it themselves this would be a good easy option. This is also an quick option for developers who don’t want to spend too much time designing new websites but want to give something good in the least possible time frame for their clients

How to get your page cloud website started?

· Purchase a membership/monthly plan with page cloud

· When you create a PageCloud site, it is automatically assigned a name and a public URL of the form: eg.  name.pagecloud.com

· Log in and create your website via drag and drop and add content.

· Point your purchased domain name to the page cloud website.

If you got a domain with — > go daddy which is my recommended domain name registrar , then you can follow their detailed domain pointing guide on their website here to point it to pagecloud.  Go daddy currently has a cheap 99 cent domain name deal going on , you can  get it here.

How does page cloud stack up against other cloud webhosting providers?

There is no doubt about the ease of use of this service, but what about the most important factor -pricing. The monthly fee for this service is priced at $24 a month for 1 site.

I really don’t like the fact that the price still stays the same even if you take a 10 website package @$24 X10 = $240 for 10 sites. We will have to wait and see if they will offer a discount for a bigger website package deal, however their website does offer discount coupons for special deals.

Their refund policy states that they don’t offer any refunds and they will inform you in most cases if they have a problem with your account and need to terminate their services with you for any specified reason.

Drag and drop website building is not really new, with popular website creation companies like www.wix.com and www.weebly.com and www.squarespace.com  who are already operating in this space, but page cloud has upped the game a bit with actually allowing you to drag n drop edit and create a website right from your browser.

These more established providers provide free trials of their service which can be a good thing to test things out. The most important bit after checking features offered  is pricing and so we will compare pricing below.

Wix Comparison

Wix offers a free trial for their service and charges $4.08 a month for their most basic “connect domain plan” which displays wix ads on your website, so this in most probably not appropriate if you are serious about your website or then starting a business. Their $8.25 Combo plan for personal use is good starter plan and you get a domain free for 1 year. Check out their updated pricing + more plans and detailed features + terms of use here.

Weebly Comparison

Weebly also offers free trial of their service, you can create unlimited pages and host your site for free. For their $8 a month starter plan, you can get a nice website and get  rid of their weebly ads on your website, get site stats and also a free bonus domain name for 1 year. Check here for updated pricing plans and more features here.

Squarespace Comparison

Squarespace offer s 14 day trial for their service. They have an $8 a month plan (billed annually) for their starter plan. They also have a monthly plan, but fees increase substantially if you take a monthly plan. They have a fully integrated ecommerce service and give you a domain free with your annual plan. Check here for updated pricing plans and more features.

Page cloud vs Weebly vs Wix vs Squarspace

So to sum it up there is a big price difference between other cloud hosting companies above which are cheaper  and page cloud, but then there is also the uniqueness of the page cloud service which justifies a little bit of a higher price, but it remains to be seen if  the $24 pricing bracket is justifiable for the unique new technology and ease of use they provide.

IMHO they possibly won’t make as much inroads into the developer market, but would possibly attract a good chunk of DIY website builders  who will certainly find this  service useful.
