20 Top brands with affilate programs to make you money in 2019

January 2, 2017 by admin 33 Comments

join microsoft affiliate program

Updated 7 May 2019. If you are a  blogger or online marketer, how happy would you be to see this email, and I was too when I received that email from microsoft.

Not only  have I been using  – the useful Microsoft  programs for years  like windows  Office ( word , excel , publisher , one note, office 360 ), but now I also have the opportunity  to promote them as an affiliate and make some money.

Microsoft is  a Big brand that sells itself and so I just need to position myself  to the right audience. This is what affiliate marketing and internet marketing is all about- selling online and making money.

If you run a blog then you will need to know how to make money and if you want to make money you will first >> need to make a blog.

Doing blogging for a passion is all right, but earning some money on the side could always be a bonus. There are top bloggers who make a passive income  of upto $40,000 a year (some in a month) just by promoting affiliate programs( Pat Flynn is an example) and then there are some who make even more.

If you have a blog or website or then planning to start a new blog/website –  Why not take advantage of some good established big brands to make yourself some money as well.

I have written a detailed comparison  of website hosting providers who make it easy to create a blog easily over here, if you are a beginner looking to start a blog or website. I have also listed  some great hosting options and  word press resources below if your want to get started with a website.

But first lets go ahead and check out some  Australian affiliate programs that can make you money.

Why big brands?

Because its Easy to sell, Big brands are well known and already earned that good will so why not take advantage of it . All you need to do, is provide the information that the customer is seeking  and a little bit more  to stand out from your competition and then add a decent call to action (purchase) and you could get a sale soon.

Off course it it is an unknown brand, then it makes  this job  a little bit harder to sell a product on your blog-website.

In this post I am going to list some top brands that can help you make money from your blog and also some tips on how to earn some money with these established brands.

You don’t need to be a professional affiliate marketer or internet marketer today to make some money from your website. All you need is a good blog with some decent traffic.

How to join these affiliate programs

There are many affiliate program companies that bring together lots of top brand companies to promote under their one program and so you can sign up with this company  to promote many rather than signing up individually with every top brand.

offers listed on Commission Junction

Some top affiliate program companies  that represent top brands are Commission Junction (CJ), Share a sale (www.shareasale.com), Maxbounty , Amazon associates, Ebay Network and Peerfly.

There are also smaller companies like Clickbank and Neverblue and Offer vault that offer digital downloads and CPA programs.

The advantage of signing up with aggregated publisher/seller program like commission junction is that –  it becomes easier to sign up with just one account with them  to get approval to promote multiple big brand products on their list. Otherwise you would have to sign up individually with each individual top brand website to promote them.

ShareASale network comprises of more than 3800 merchants

There are some top brands that still decide to run their own affiliate programs via their own website and so you might still need to sign up directly with the company reseller/partner/affiliate program.

I have had some success with promoting some products via an Australian affiliate program website, however I find the US based Commission junction and some other direct affiliate programs much more beneficial and also professional in their customer support.

Below are some Australian affiliate programs and below are also some US based affiliate companies. As this list is about affiliate networks, you will find some of my affiliate links in this post as well as direct links to affiliate programs or direct product websites.

26. Template Monster

This website www.templatemonster.com used to be one of the popular providers of website themes and word press designs. But with heavy competition in this niche they are not so visible online today, however they still do have a very large collection of website templates, designs and add ons.

It’s got good products to promote if you are into blogging or website building

This list is not extensive and there will be affiliate programs that I have not covered here and I will most probably add on more to it as we go, but do let me know if you have had some good experience with any affiliate networks – Australian or US/UK based

5 Tips for success with top brands affiliate programs

1. Target your niche. Even if you are promoting top brands, you won’t have as much success unless your website is also related to  the niche you are promoting. Say you are promoting Itunes mp3s – you would have a better chance earning commissions if your blog is about music and entertainment .

I would recommend Rosalind Gardner  who is a super affiliate and has helped many into  their online affiliate marketing careers, she has two guides that she sells – one is called the “Affiliate Blogger Pro” and the other one is an in depth  affiliate guide called – “Super Affiliate: How I Made $436,797 In One Year which covers how to start Your Own Home-based Affiliate Marketing Business.

These guides will surely teach  you how to go about and start earning  with affiliate marketing or  increase your existing blog income

2. Your blog posts need to be helpful to your target audience and stand out or reach out to your audience.

3.You need targeted traffic to the products you are promoting , say if you are writing about songs and new albums , people should be searching google, bing, yahoo for new songs, new release albums and landing on your blog.

4. Your blog should look professional or presentable. The design of your blog  or the theme should suit your niche. Say it’s a recipe blog, get a professional looking recipe theme or design. Looks  do matter.

5. Create a personal rapport with your audience and speak to them directly, use (you) , (I ) and (them – affiliates) in your blog articles and posts.

6. Use similar web to see what keywords your top brands are ranking for and try to get similar but not same keywords to rank for in search engines. A good paid program for spying on other people’s websites and keywords is also SEMRUSH, which is a premium program

7. Bonus -Don’t ever forget your call to action, even in a blog post

Tools to promote affiliate Links :

Often many top affiliate programs provide tools for you to promote their products like an affiliate Link Maker, a Widget Builder to make widgets for your blog, RSS Feed Generator and a API for data feeds.

They also provide ready-made Banners in different sizes and linking codes that you can just copy and paste onto your website or blog.

Coupons are a great way for promotion and businesses now are providing discount coupons which make it easier to promote some products to the consumers. There are also custom plugins that make the inserting links into blog  process easy on your blog.

How to link out to affiliate program links from your blog

Most top bloggers use wordpress plugins to link to affiliate products, while this is a good tactic it can often backfire  as some affiliate programs do not allow this.

Make sure you read the terms and conditions or  check with affiliate network before you do this, otherwise you could make sales and lose that commission. I would suggest that you actually take a online course from Affilorama.  Mark Ling  who started this, is a great Internet marketer and if you want to do  affiliate marketing , the affilorama course will give you a solid training.

Some popular wordpress plugins for managing affiliate links are:

1. Prettylink – lite Free and premium versions https://wordpress.org/plugins/pretty-link/

2. Thirsty affiliates – http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-affiliate-links-in-wordpress-with-thirstyaffiliates/

3. Seo ultimate plugin – It has a nice affiliate linking module in thier seo plugin

You can also use php redirects or add some code to redirect affiliate links on your website yourself, check out this blog post by Rosalind and check out another tutorial here and a video tutorial below .

Google advices to use No follow for your affiliate links , so you can do that easily. Below is a no follow example

No follow example :

<a href="https://www.digitalgrog.com.au/mysaleaffilaitelink.html" rel="nofollow">sign in</a>

Or

<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.functravel.com/">Cheap Flights</a>

Many top bloggers earn a full time income from passive income earned from affiliate networks and you can too with your own blog . The basic principle is increase your targeted traffic for the product your are promoting and make unique and helpful content in that niche  and you will be successful.

If you think I have missed out on any good affiliate networks in this list, do email  me or comment below. Cheers/jeff

How to embed your Amazon Astore in wordpress or blogger blog

January 18, 2016 by admin 12 Comments

create an amazon store and product

I needed to integrate a  “AMAZON ASTORE” into a self hosted wordpress site as a test on one of my websites. I trawled and searched  the internet for ways to best put in the “amazon astore”  to match my blog theme and design of this blog. [updated 18 jan 2016]

I came across  this site “ Robin Maluau – rockstar now geek” and “ Kristella’s blog” that gave me some useful but more technical tips. These tips could probably wont make sense to some , as you ned to have some technical knowledge to understand their jargon.  Since they had published those useful posts and tips  for getting a Amazon store to work with wordpress and blogger ,  blogger and wordpress itself has changed  and got updated. These updates  to new versions  have made  “integrating  you amazon Astore into your blog or website more easy” than ever.

Before i got much deeper into creating a  Amazon store within your blog –

Here is some basic info on amazon store and making money

An amazon store is a quick store that you can build online for free with amazon  to sell products  and earn a commission when a product gets sold. You need to register with amazon as a  affiliate to get this started. You dont need to make a Amazon store to sell products, you can just insert  your affilaite link to the product on your blog or website  and if a person clicks on that links and buys something you earn a commission.

How Do I Get Started?

1. If you are not a member of the Associates program, start by joining the program.
2. If you are already a member of the Associates program, visit the aStore section of Associates Central.

So, I  had the job of updating  this wordpress blog/website “www.australianpropertymarket.com.au” with a Amazon product store, so  I did a bit of research on the internet  and found many articles – some useful – most outdated. I decided to work it out on my own and managed to get a Amazon store nicely working  with wordpress, just by copying and pasting code provided by amazon  into wordpress. Its that simple now !! ( however this task was made easy  with my blog theme solostream  – which has integration options  to make this task easier )

Integrate amazon astore in wordpress blogger website
How to make a Amazon store ?

Integrating Amazon A store Into wordpress / Blogger

or

How to make a amazon store in WordPress ?

I will show you how to integrate  “your amazon store” in few easy steps with a basic wordpress site .

Make sure you change the theme  while making the amazon astore  to match your store theme colours.

create amazon page website Integrate amazon html code for wordpress

I am assuming  that you already signed up as a affilaite  with amazon  and can now create a  Astore through your account .

Next Step.

Create the Astore in amazon and get the inline frame embed link like above.

Login and Go to your word press blog – Click on add new page

Click the html/text  button  where you write content and  paste the embed  code you got from amazon into the page Next – Click save

Now go to page attributes on your right  and switch the page template column to “page template – no sidebars” so that  your amazon sidebar is the only  sidebar that’s seen on the theme.

Some themes block this feature to not have the regular sidebar option , and you might have to mess around further with their  code to get this option installed or then just get the Solsotream theme that I use it will make the process easier) .

Here is another example  of  australian book website page on a standard wordpress template but without the Amazon sidebar ( adjusting the  width and height dimension in the  inline embed frame code of amazon will get  you this type of amazon page) .

You can check out the example  link below  for the Full amazon astore embed page in the word press website on propertymarket website

wordpress theme settings to integrate amazon code html into website or blog

The theme used on  the Australian property website is the same theme that is being used by my blog as well and you can get a $10 discount currently on this solostream theme , Solostream Themes are quite robust and SEO friendly and I do recommend them, you can read a review of some of the themes i recommend over here , but Solostream themes has been one of my favorites for years.

Create word press Amazon page

Y0u can further mess around with the amazon code for width and height and change size as necessary or then change the page attributes while generating the  embed code Or manually   to suit your design. You can also place a link on your blog menu  to your “amazon page”  to promote it.

You can follow a similar way to get this “amazon page on blogger” . I will  post a tutorial  how to integrate  Amazon Astore on blogger   when i get some spare time.

You can check out the result here  at the property  market website  &  another example  of  the Investor property book store page

All the best  and let me know if you run into any problems implementing this. You can comment below or get in touch with me via contact form  if you need any help setting this up.

This Guy bought Million dollar Google.com for just $12 dollars

October 3, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

domains for cheap what - and not even godaddy but Google domain registration service

Domain Names Sell for as low as 0.99 cents to $35.6 million just for internet domain name. Google.com which is probably worth millions of dollars got accidentally sold to a buyer last week for a very small fee this week, possibly leaving many google employees redfaced. In fact insurance .com did sell for $35.6million (yep just for the name www.insurance.com) in 2010.

How did google lose google.com domain name for just $12

In one of the weirdest stories I’ve ever read online a guy called Sanmay Ved has detailed how he was able to use Google’s own domain service to buy Google.com for just $12.

the google.com accidental sale for $12 and purchase

Apparently Sanmay was playing around in Google Domains just to see if there was any interesting domains he could buy. He searched google.com and was surprised that it was available. He could not believe his luck and instantly just purchased the domain without thinking about it. He then decided to add it to his cart and check out and realised all he needed to pay was just the small amount of $12 to own one of the most popular names on the internet.

While this story is as unbelievable as it is, like hitting a gold mine, the joy didn’t last for long. The domain was for a short time was actually registered to Sanmay Ved, as it showed in his Google Webmaster Tools with his existing domain and he also received a set of emails from Google accounts, the details of which he hasn’t disclosed.

Surprisingly he did say that that he had not received similar emails for previous domain purchases.THE domain at THE price! $.99 .COM Domains from GoDaddy!

What happened next was expected, Google managed to reverse the transaction and sanmay was refunded the $12 he spent for the domain and the domain name went back to google.

It is said that this obviously could be done easily because google domains owns the registration service, however had another big registrar like godaddy.com ( which sells domains names for currently as low as 0.99 cents ) or Bing.com or yahoo.com had laid their hands on such a nice prize it would have been another story altogether.

You can read the whole post that sanmay ved posted on his linked in account over here.

Here are some pics from his Linked in account

This news story has rocked the internet going viral  and has been reported by many tops technology news giants like Cnet, Forbes and many more (including us)

The Near-Future Role of A SEO

August 19, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

seo in perth sydney melbourne victoria australia

A SEO’s role is always changing and adapting ever since webmasters were optimizing sites in the mid-1990’s. With every technological change and every Google algorithm update, a SEO’s job changes little by little. In the near future, a SEO’s role will not become more specialized, but broader. SEO’s will need to widen their scope of skills in order to stay competitive. A SEO’s job will revolve around these three main roles:

1. Search Engine Compliance Officer

The Search Engine Compliance Officer’s primarily responsible will be overseeing and managing Search Engine compliance issues within an organization. This is the role that will be most important for corporations and enterprises to have. The job will be much similar to what it is now, knowing all of Google and Bing’s Webmaster guidelines, and making sure that all things on a site are compliant to those guidelines.

The Search Engine Compliance Officer would be the “first line of defense” against Search Engine penalties. Any new additions to the site must pass the SEO before being pushed live (new pages, new content, tools, categories, sections, tagging, etc), moreover, a SEO should also be present during any meetings of new additions to a site to make sure that that integration is being completed well within a Search Engine’s guidelines and best preferred practices.

The SEO will also need to make sure that all incoming backlinks are compliant with a Search Engine’s policies. SEOs will need to monitor and investigate:

· How the backlink was obtained to make sure that it was not purchased

· The anchor text of the link and comparing it to the anchor text breakdown of the entire link profile

· The “spamminess” of a link

· Whether a banner ad or sponsored link has been nofollowed

· The top level IP’s of links to make sure that they are not apart of a link farm or link scheme

How To Prepare Yourself:

· Read Google and Bing’s Webmaster Guidelines

· Read Google Webmaster Blog

· Become Proficient in Google Webmaster Tools

· Learn To Use Google Analytics

· Learn To Use Screaming Frog

· Stay Up To Date With On SEO Blogs, such as:

o Moz.com

o SearchEngineLand.com

o SERoundTable.com

· Learn To Use Link Monitoring Tools, like:

o Open Site Explorer

o MonitorBacklinks.com

o Majestic SEO

o Ahrefs

· Learn to Decipher The Site Speed Recommendations From Pingdom

2. Creative Director

Since Wil Reynold’s gave his amazing RCS presentation at Mozcon 2012, content marketing has been on every marketing/SEO department checklist. Developing great content has been and is the key to sustainable online growth. That will not soon change with the ongoing rise of social media, which are essentially content sharing networks.

SEOs will have to become more like Creative Directors – birthing an interesting and captivating idea, leading the communication for design and copy, and developing the ways for it to gain visibility. The SEO must guide teams with skills and experience related to graphic design, fine arts, motion graphics, content, social media, and development. It would be beneficial for any SEO to study up on and receive certification in any tools that designers, developers, and project manager’s use. The key is to not only be able to speak their language for optimal communication, but also be able to get hands-on in every project.

From the beginning of an idea to the point where it is generating a company traffic, mentions, and backlinks, a SEO has to be the point person, directing his or her creative vision to lead to content that will be a success online or off.

How To Prepare Yourself:

· Take Courses in the Adobe Creative Suite

· Study and Get Certified in Project Management

· Start Reading Any of These Books

· Brush Up on Advertising

· Learn to Use Social Media Tools, like:

o Sprout Social

o HootSuite

o Facebook Ads

· Ingratiate Yourself into Social Communities Like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Vine, etc To Learn What Is On the Cusp of Social Popularity

3. New Technology Optimizer

Technology is ever changing and there is always going to be a new channel to advertise through. At the moment, it is social and mobile. In the near future, it will probably be voice search especially with the growth of businesses like Wolfram Alpha, Viv, and of course, Siri. The goal of these three technologies is to serve you the best information, with the least amount of barriers. Even though search will be done through voice, there will still need to be a database, a place to pull information from, and that will still be web properties like websites or social pages that they can crawl and serve data.

A SEO is the near future will need to be able to optimize for all these channels. They will need to on the cusp of technology and know how to gain visibility through every new platform that arises – whether it is search engines, app stores, voice search, or even information or ads brought to you during your Google self-driving taxi ride.

How To Prepare Yourself:

· Research and Read the Latest News in Technology

· Learn About Viv AI Through this article and this article

· Stay Up To Date On What Google is Working on

In conclusion, things are not getting more specialized for SEOs, they are getting a bit broader. A SEO in the near future will need to be a jack-of-all-trades, in a sense. Moreover, a SEO in the near future will need to know how any why a search engines ranks a site and make sure that companies are compliant with those guidelines, be creative that can not only come up with an idea, but work with teams to execute and find success, and lastly will stay up to date with all technologies and be able to optimize for every platform.

5 Dangers of Using an Inexperienced Web Designer for Your Business

In an effort to cut the costs of your business, you may be tempted to use a web designer who offers services at a lower price than their competitors. Chances are, a web designer who offers their services cheaply lacks experience and effectiveness in their work.

Industry experts, such as The Print Group, advises that inexperienced and/or under-qualified web designers can inflict incredible harm on a business and suggest tips for getting it right. Be aware of the following dangers that come with using inexperienced web designers

1. They Are Rarely ‘Cheap’

While you may feel tempted by a reduced price on a quote, take great care. Cheap tends to mean that you may not pay as much from the outset but will pay significantly more in the future to cover problems that arise.

Trying to repair mistakes made by an inexperienced designer can be incredibly costly. In this situation, you will probably end up paying more than you would have spent in the first place had you opted for the services of the best web designer you could afford.

2. Your Website May Repel Customers

Your business’ website should really serve as an employee of your company – and an employee that works constantly, is always available and responds promptly and efficiently with everything that the customer needs. Your business’ website must be professional, attentive and focused, and be able to provide the customer with the information and experience that they want.

An inexperienced web designer may lack the skills, knowledge and insight necessary to provide your customers with an excellent website, one that inspires confidence and convinces your customers to engage with your business. Do not risk having a website that does just the opposite and turns customers away.

3. You Won’t Get the Best Features

If you use an inexperienced web designer, you also run the risk of them using cheap plug-ins that ultimately cause a raft of stability and security issues. If your business’ website is to be of outstanding quality and provide customers with a great experience, there is no place for these issues. The use of cheap plug-ins and other features that fail and compromise stability are likely to cause customer frustration.

4. Your Site Might Be Exposed to Security Threats

Use a web designer that has the industry experience and skills needed to keep abreast of and respond to security threats, trends and alerts. With an inexperienced designer, there is a far greater chance of your website, resources, customers and information being at the mercy of hackers.

5. No Help is Available

If you opt for an inexperienced or cheaply priced web designer, do not expect that help will necessarily be available when you need it. As time progresses, you will probably need to update information, post new content, alter information and overcome problems such as site crashes or security threats. A web designer that can provide maintenance support is important, but you’re unlikely to receive this service, or the level of maintenance expertise required to solve problems, if you engage with an inexperienced web designer.

Devote time and resources to find the most effective and experienced web designer that you can possibly afford for your business’ website. Working with an experienced web designer is a very wise investment.

5 Signs Your Website Needs a Redesign

May 22, 2014 by admin Leave a Comment

Your website is often the first impression that people will get of your brand or business and while revamping it may be a significant time and cost expense, sometimes it’s not something that you can afford to delay. How do you know when it’s time to redesign your website? Read on to find out.

It Isn’t Mobile Friendly

Mobile matters. At the TechCrunch conference in early 2014, Yahoo! Chief Executive Marissa Mayer told attendees that their mobile users are already up 43% from this time last year and they expect that figure to keep climbing in 2014 to a point where they will potentially outnumber desk top users before the end of the year.

There Is No Social Media Integration

Including links to your social media platforms from your website is the absolute minimum you should be doing. Ideally, you should be making it as easy as possible for people to share your content across Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. Incorporating social sharing tools enables your customers to help spread the word about your business organically across their digital profiles.

It’s Cumbersome to Update

Do you still have to email off changes to your web design team or allocate half a day just to upload a new special to your website? Websites were never meant to be a static medium and regularly updating your content means that your site visitors have a reason to keep coming back. If you can’t update it yourself or your content management system is hard to use, it may be time to consider and upgrade.

You’re Losing Traffic

Have your website visitors declined in recent years, or do they leave your site quickly after finding it? It may be that your content – or your whole design – needs to be updated. Things that you can immediately do to remedy this is do an audit of your website and remove anything that is obviously out of date – a promotion that expired six months ago or even held last year for example. Regularly updating your website with useful information not only helps with your search engine rankings, but also ensures that there is a purpose for people to visit – and revisit – your website.

You’ve Rebranded

This one might seem a little obvious but there are a surprising number of businesses out there who’ve updated their logo and branding but haven’t transferred the new look to their website. The same look and feel should be consistently applied across all facets of your business – if the website doesn’t match your Facebook page or what people experience when they come into your premises, it can have a negative impact on how they view your brand.

If your website can identify with any of these five warning signs that it might be time to redesign, you should start making plans and enquiries now. A professional audit by an integrated digital agency like Simple can arm you with tips that can help your current site while planning ahead to make sure that you’re maximising your online potential and staying ahead of the competition.

When was the last time your website was revamped?
